HTH

I run pump gas..93 with alky
Sure, big cubes and a light car is a great combo. Yet I have run a sizable amount of NOS through my motor using only (93)pump gas. I have, up until recently, never had a plug problem. I also run much hotter and leaner than is recommended by NOS/NX and have had good results. Now that I am starting to really put the gas to it, I have started to have any issues(melted plugs and mid-track backfires).

I refuse to run my motor on race fuel, because I still want to drive it around without taking out a second morgage on my house. I have been considering using race fuel on the fuel side of the nitrous system from a small tank. It might be the comprimise I need to stay safe, go fast and run pump gas.

P.S. What's up with the alky?

Hmm, that's a good idea, running a small tank of race fuel for a wet nitrous kit. What all would you need for that? You'd basically need another fuel system just for that, wouldn't you?

Yeah, that your motor isn't a "regular old SBC". Your car's fast, but lets not pretend its anywhere near stock shall we?
OK, back up. What I ment was that my SBC is the older style motor and not one of the newer LS1 or LT1 motors. Sure my motor is not stock. I can't think of anything in my motor which was made by Chevrolet, even the block is aftermarket. I am not pretenting anything other than I am not poor.

Force Fed 23,

Back in my younger days I had a small truck with a 2.3 in it and a 5 speed. It sure was a lot of fun to drive and work on. At the time I had all of the current mods done to it. I loved to see my friends faces when I would rev it to 8k. They thought I was crazy and I didn't care what happen to it. The only problems I ever had was with the altenator going bad because of the high rpms.

Those motors are damned near indestructable kinda like aftermarket Chevy stuff
Back then I was using cheap rebuild alternators from the parts store. My 2.3 was not fuel injected, I ran a 500cfm Holley 2 barrel and an MSD 6T. The bottom end was an all stock turbo motor and the head and intake was of a carburated motor. If I remember correctly I cut 0.120" off the head to up the compression and used a sloted gear for the cam to redegree it. That was my first expriance with cam timing. I recieved some help from a friend who raced mini stocks at sunshine back in the day.

i always wanted to try one of these when i ran the juice.
Scott,

I have all the good MSD stuff and I automaticly retard my timing when the nitrous is activated. As far as Jacobs stuff, well, I have a bitter taste in my mouth from them when I had my Jeep. I am hoping when I change over to fuel injection here in the near future that some of those problems will go away. There will be a learning curve again, but you don't go fast over night.
