Well yeah!!! It all has to do with that karate stuff, you know. "Im a black belt 1st Dan and he is black belt 4th Dan". Plus you guys all look alike in case nobody ever told you.

Ahem, as for Ramsey's, I've only been there once when I was worried about my C-4 going BLANG every time I shifted it. Would have been a good time for him to pick up some easy money for a performance rebuild. He took a test drive and said it was just driveline noise from having a bad assed shift kit, solid motor mounts, urethane tranny mounts and aluminum driveshaft. He was right but didn't make a cent off the deal. Gotta be something good in that. Oh, and just to be fair, after that, Fordspeed, IdleWild and Trico Transmission told me the same thing...w/o charge. Heh, they were all right.

I have never had any done work by Ramsey but I have talked to Dennis on several occasions. He is a very nice and helpful guy. As far his people who do the grunt work, I have seen some nice work roll out of their and I have also seen some real shit come out from there. My friend Jeff is now working there so I have much more confidence in Ramsey's now. But if I ever take my car there for any reason, I would make sure I had Jeff work on the car.

Thanks for putting the mind to ease guys. I did a search here and the comments about Ramsey's is majority positive. I come from the belief that if somethings free there's gotta be a catch that's why the nervousness about the whole deal. I called today and they said it should be ready for tomorrow. Their shop was full when I dropped off the car yesterday so they seem to be getting work. URFUCT is right, Dennis was exactly in that same little room when I met him, messing with the wire harness on some mod-motor.

As for the Karate crap, piss on that, I'd rather shoot in on someones legs for the takedown and then choke'em out. I'm blind after my glasses/contacts have been knocked out, so grappling is my only option.

I'm not a big fan of their work. About 3 years ago, my previous car (the infamous "Lemon Drop") went into their shop for a relatively simple motor, rearend, and transmission swap. The donor car was sitting 20 feet away, so it wasn't a question of "waiting on parts". It took them almost 4 MONTHS to complete the work.

To make things worse, the car didn't have enough balls to pull on a Taurus (seriously...my dad's Taurus pulled away from my car under full acceleration). Took it to Race Related where they sorted out the numerous problems AND rebuilt Ramsey's transmission rebuild (which Ramsey's would not warranty). A week later all my problems were fixed and my car ran like a raped ape.

Denis is a great guy, really knows his shit and is really helpful for sourcing parts...but being a nice guy doesn't makeup the fact they took entirely too long to complete half-assed work on my car. Maybe he has changed in the last 3 years, or maybe he hasn't. Either way, there is no way I could ever go back.

Well, I got my car back. It's nice to have a new clutch that engages without any drama. I'm gonna take it easy a while and break it in a bit before I start joining up with the fellas and laying down some rubber. I got a good deal so I can't complain. I looked my car over and I noticed the flywheel housing cover was missing, so I called Ramsey's and they said it never had one to begin with. I doubt that because I swear it had one. It's alright though because they're only $9.30, so that's now on order. Overall I'm satisfied.
