Anyway, like Zate said, talk to the techs at Mastro they can lead you in the right direction. In fact, Jon, the mechanic I always deal with there owns a SVX so I'm sure he could tell you alot about them.
im not so sure flat 6 was a name for the horizontally opposed engines. im not saying it isnt but when i hear flat 6 I think inline 6 like the 4.0L jeeps.

Flat always means horizontally opposed.

Inline = Straight

I had one for over a year, I bought it back in 2000
it was 92, top model (LS-i), 63K for $6,500 out of the door
I know more about that car than any car I ever owned, it was my baby for a while....

Although, that car cost me as much to keep alive in one year, Auto tranny fails on all of them, axles, alternator, CV joints.

The car is very slow off the line, decent on highway, not impressive, just looks will turn alot of heads, alot of road noise and wierd noises comming from the back.

As for the 5-speed swap, it will cost you $2500 for the tranny.

BTW, it weighs somewhere at 3800 lbs

The majority of the ones I have seen are FWD! I'm pretty sure that FWD SVX's were offered in 1994 and 1995. There are many SVXs out there that are FWD.
