I am the moron? You have the rice kit and think you need to take all the old paint off to repaint it.

you dont have to take it all the way down to paint it you just have to sand it enough to make it paintable. but unless your the one whos painting it you shouldnt sand it because it will just get dirty, and fuck the paint up.

you have to sand it, feather out any chips and primer it, sand the primer then paint it. all on top of your old paint if you sand it right it wont chip it will only chip were its not been sanded properly. thers no need to take all the paint off.

Why did you ask then?

Why are YOU prepping something YOUR not painting?

Unless its crowsfeet then you dont have much to worry about, let the painter do it..and if youneed someone to paint it for you,I got a friend who does mobile painting and he will be in Brandon in the bigging of the week,I can hook it up so you can contact him for a price quote...

if you going to do this yourself, make sure you know what your buying.

make you use a lacquer based primer, if your using a lacquer based paint. Make sure you use a clear coat that is also lacquer based, or you will have the worst looking paint job ever.

If you don't like lacquer, you can use enamel based primer and paint and clear.

you need to remember to use all like based coats, or it will never look nice and deep with a good shine to it...
