Tampa Racing Observations
the thing is, most of the tech forums after 2005-2006 were never going to contain as much information as the dedicated websites for those cars. For 240sx's, you went to Freshalloy if you wanted to talk tech (not that Zilvia abomination), or you went to Honda-Tech or whatever car site there is for your vehicle. As such, the only questions coming in were either troubleshooting stuff, or newbie stuff that got flamed to go google or check out stickies or references to other sites. The tech forums on a social site like TR would never last, but at least with a core group, they would remain busy with build threads, meets, and such.
^^Agree, I went to a bmw forum once I got one just because it's more specific and TR got full of ricers that really have no idea what they are talking about.

Man we used to have such a good time on this forum... I think the TR/TF split was a big deal, but for me it was when they went to the new style vBulletin, you can't search your user name and get recent posts you have made. It gives me stuff I posted back in 2007.
The "search all started threads" is good, but there is no option to see single posts, because if you "search all posts" it gives you results that look awful and are confusing.

I wonder if there is a correlation between car meet attendance, and activity on this forum? Seems to me car meets have slowed way down, and the few that Ive been to in the last few months, didnt have that many people there.

TF/TR split kinda ruined it. Then only thing active these days is the honda section full of dumasses and thiefs.

Also back then there used to be "TR Official events" and what not, which kept it going and the forums grew stronger from those events.

I was lurking for the longest time but since I don't do anything at work I started posting again. I had to remake this name a few years ago after I got banned for drunk posting.
