What kind of short-throw shifter do you have in your car?
I had one in my RX-7. Had it custom made at a Machine shop. Sometimes it was hard to shift into gears or I would completely miss. I did like the look of it though, but the factory OEM did the job just fine. I have it somewhere in my dads garage. Along with a custom intake I have for the RX-7.

Tobibeck,
I have installed a few short throw shifters that customers brought to me. They were not as good quality as the one you have. I found a solution to make them work smoother and lessen the likelyhood of a missed shift. Most things can be improved. The same solution may work for yours, even with a better quality shifter.
I saw some of the things that you did to your car. Your car looks good. Let me know if you installed your own shifter or if you had someone else do it.
Thanks.-Bob
Chris,
We have talked a few times at m**ts. With your mustang, did it use a linkage or did it mount right into the trans?-Bob
