I already can tell you what 98% of the imports are going to say and that is build quality of the imports but guess what? the latest reports show domestics have just about caught up in all quality areas while the major import brands are starting to slip.

none the less lets hear it. anything goes.

I chose my Acura for one simple reason... it fit what I desired in my price range.

I am not an "import" only guy... hell, I have owned all the major brands at one time or another...

When I was looking at cars, the integra was the best thing for under $25K with the most support. The vehicle was small and semi light. It was very nimble. It was pepy. It was fun to drive and it offered all the luxury I desired.

If big american cars are what is desired... then own one. If smaller imports are desired, then own one...

I have nothing against either, I say just choose a car that fits you. Just make sure it can keep up with the rest of 'em...

imagine that answer from a import owner but that is typical and why the domestics can not stand most of you

but you said it yourself it takes a swap of another motor to win. so a tin can on wheels beats a factory car or even lightly modded at the end of the day you are still driving a tin can. lets swap a different motor into the camaro or rustang and see what happens

even more beautiful than your story is watching some kid that just bought a brand new 20,000 dollar + import with 5,000 in mods get walked by 20 train bus lengths by a under 10,000 dollar camaro or rustang with a 1000 in mods. and at the end of the day you have a car with heritage and loyal owners unlike the import coparison

This I can understand.

sounds like whining to me.

Don't you think that putting a 383 kit into a 350 is "swapping" motors? Come on... Your whole statement is lame. Swapping motors is nothing new in the world of race cars. Many domestics have been doing it for a long time.

A $10K camaro is a wimpy v6 and $1000 in mods puts it into the 16s... nothing impressive if you ask me. If I bought a $20,000 Import (Acura Integra) and put $5000 in mods, it would be quite easy to put it into the low 12s.

Not a fair "price comparison". This is why I see "alot" of the domestic owners as mullets and inbreds. They start comparing peas to watermelons and can't quite figure out why the comparison is usually off....

They also get all emo when an import is compared to any domestic in a manner which makes the import seem the better choice.

Again... I go back to my original point... everyone is different, thus everyone requires a different vehicle.

$10 for a v6.....mines a 96 z28 all options and BB's for less then $10, and with $1000 in mods ill be deep in the 12s....

this is true. also, i think a big factor is how u grow up around certain cars. before i got my first car i wanted a honda civic, but my parents got me an 89 camaro v8 which i loved. its been all camaros since then...and now as a second car i been thinking about getting a civic hatch or something like that. anything can be made fast.

I don't have a mullet, therefore the import choice.
