ok....Mod VS Mod.....the import you can still have AC,radio,nice wheels and still gets Good Mi's on the gas.....where as the Gm or Ford....no AC radio..but you would have to have one hell of a system to hear it..and well the gas....you betta have a good j0b....or only drive when you have too! the Imports still look better ne way....

2. Early model interiors. Imports have so much more refined interiors in the early 90s compared with domestics, which was in my price range. Compare and 89 crx vs. 89 cavalier.

i don't like imports more than domestics, its just that so far i have not found many dometics that i can afford that appeal to me for fit, finish, or style.
as far as the price question, you can get any car for any price as long as you find someone to sell it that cheap...
in the end, like greg said, its your freedom of choice, drive what you want. if it were up to me no one would drive saturns.

Great to see you can draw this conclusion with what seems to be little to no knowledge. There are tons (literally) of Mustangs out there that run 10's and 11's with all the creature comforts you mentioned plus some.
I know of a Mustang that drove down from Michigan to the NMRA Shootout in Bradenton last March, changed onto slicks that were in his back seat, busted off 9's all day and drove home ! Are there any imports that can do that ? Oh it has full interior and a/c.
At least when I make the occasional comment about specific imports I do it based off of something I have seen or read about which is not the case here from what I can see.
Funny how a lot of the import owners in this thread have answered in a defensive manner, seems like the dude is asking a viable question.
And sure they (v8's) are going to eat more gas but that's what happens when you have h.p. and torque.

unfortunately it seems the person you were quoting perpetuates the stereotype to which others must suffer.
yes v8's eat more gas, but typically they have 2 to 4 times the displacement of any 4 cylinder, and fire twice as often. they should make more power, and they always will make more power. i got a big laugh out of it when i found out my 440cc injectors were like 42lbs, and the mustang guys at the body shop dropped their jaws.
