How thew hell else are you going to get any respectable power out of an air cooled VW engine. One of the bajas had a motor just over 2 liters with a turbo, he had between $5-7K invested and was still only putting 163hp to the wheels. Most "built" N/A VW motors can't hit 100hp at the wheels. Now that is a lot for such a light car but I still want more.

We're no different than the watercooled people. (Except we don't have a radiator to watch out for. )

Turbo's are just a cheap and easy way to make power.

vwbidder, i've seen lots of N/A motors that put down some serious power. It's all in how you build them.

Too funny, you inadvertently caught a picture of my parents bug being towed behind their Expedition (in the pic with the stretched flamed bug). They brought it up there to sell, and got a buyer, very clean '65, tried to restore it true to its original form.
