Suspension questions
Need some info on suspension upgrades. I'm currently running 2" lowering springs on my 3g and want it to look a bit more aggressive and a better ride. I'm riding on stock shocks prolly the ones that came in the car. I'm on stock wheels right now and a friend said to throw some 18's with a good tire on my car and it would look better but i want it to look right and ride right. I've considered running a coilover set up but don't know much. My questions are. What are the right components to run I.E. what shocks? What coilover setup? So on. Anyone who can school me on the suspension side of this please lend a hand. Any kind of advice helps. Thanx guys.
here's some pics for you guys to see what i'm working with now.
when i got it

after i dropped it

Seriously, unless you are going to track your 3g I don't see any advantage to stiffening up the suspension. My sister in law has one, not lowered and it handles very well when doing some "spirited" driving. The suspension is pretty tight from factory. If you still insist, check club3g and see what members are using.
No not tracking this thing at all lol not worth my time. I have plans down the road to build one but thats a little ways away. I would like a better ride if possible i know when you lower any car the ride isn't gonna be great but my questions were simply to improve my ride and how smooth it rides. Like I have the lowering springs now would a good set of shocks make the ride better or should i change everything out for a set of coilovers? Oh and i'm banned from club3g so thats not an option.

If you want a better ride go back to the stock suspension setup. If you want ride height adjustment capabilities go with coilovers.
When you installed the lowering springs you limited suspension travel and gave the car a firmer ride. The stock shocks are more than likely operating outside of their optimal range of motion (they may be bottoming out). You might be able to get a little bit of a smoother ride with some shocks for your car that are valved for the 2" drop. Whoever you bought the lowering springs from should carry some.
Aftermarket coilovers will stiffen the ride up all around. Manufacturers don't make coilovers to give you a smooth ride.

See thats y i needed advice i have no idea what i'm talking about. I really just wanna get a better look from my car more then a better ride. I've been told a good set of KYB's and an 18" rim would make for a lot better fitment and stance for my car. Is that true?
