Gimme a break. The main reason for detuning street cars is because they have to warranty these things. Since they can't design an entirely different engine and tranny for the car they have to keep its output at levels where they dont break early. Look at how Zate's car is barely handling the power it already has.
If you really think that california is so bad, why don't you tell me if new cobras are available in cali. Or to make it easy, how about a list of high output production sports cars that are available in florida and not california.

the hood scoop on the current STi is larger than the one on the WRX to allow for better cooling to a bigger intercooler..
looks like i know what i'll be waiting for now

For someone with as much education as you allegedly have, you're awfully thickheaded.
An engine tuned for all out performance will not burn nearly as cleanly as a car tuned to burn clean. Thus, a car tuned for all out performance has a much more difficult time meeting California's stringent emissions requirements. Hell, they keep extending their zlev deadline becaus manufactures can't do it yet. Now, do you think the STi would meet CA emissions? HELL NO!. (and yes, it does have a different tranny to handle the power and there are drastic differences in the engine as well)
Do you think the 2003 cobra would meet CA emissions if it were optimally tuned for performance? NO!. Hell, it couldn't even pass CA emissions with the exhaust that is on my 2001 Cobra. Not enought cats and because of the added db noise of the supercharger, it doesn't meet noise requirements either. Have you actually listened to an 03 up close??? They are super quiet so they can meet noise requirements.
Could you just for once not talk out of your ass???

I don't really like the looks of the "new" front end, but thats just me.
Hopefully we will get a bit more power then 233, doesn't the current WRX here have more hp then the Euro spec one? Something like 227 vs. ~217....something like that??
