My vote is the TDI Jetta sport wagon or a volvo wagon. Both available on the cheap used as well as new if thats your thing.

 

I would go with the A4 Avant. I would have said A3, but you have dogs and they wouldn't fit in the back.

Cheap used TDI Jetta sportswagen? Where? Used TDI VWs pull a crazy high premium. You are typically better off buying new.

 

The MKIV TDI wagons are around $10k depending on mileage, which is about 1/4 the price of an A4 avant new.

 

Good to know. I'm just recommending something that we've owned and liked not something that I've read about.....My wife had an 07' caliber and they didn't have any major recall's out when she owned it that I can remember


She totalled that out and we got her an 08' CX-7 which is a much nicer overall car anyway's. But,the CX-7 doesn't have a built-in flash light though

 

Buy American, so you don't have to spend an arm and a leg whenever it comes time to fix it

what price range are you looking for?

I have a few friends with a older Subaru wagons that can fit a lot in them.. like 95s with 250k miles and still rocking...

 

Negative on the Magnum due to the tranny is shit
