Is the Mustang my only option???
whenever anyone is talking about a sports car kind of car and looking in the <20k range, I always default back to the 350z.
The only new cars I would be looking at are SUV's, but even then, I personally, think there are better bangs for the buck with used cars.
Domestic cars are starting to step up their game some. I highly suggest going to that international car show before buying a new car. lets you sit in each car that you're looking at as close to side by side as you're going to get you it lets you really notice how the fit and finish compares between manufacturers
If you're going used, make a list of what you want the car to have, find the cars that have those features, then make a list of the things you totally hate about each one of those cars. You don't want to buy a car because it has some things that you love, you want to buy the car that has the least amount of things that you hate.

I can't afford a new car. I can afford a used car. Even though the 2010 mustangs are pretty cheap for a new one, but I don't want a V6. Doesn't mean I won't get one though. I don't want a basic package one either. After sitting in a GT Premium everything less is not exceptional. Money plays a huge roll. I'm hoping by income tax I can use some money towards a car. Most likely not since we want to purchase a home, But I AM HOPING to get another car too. I've looked that the GT premium, GT Deluxe and the Cobra. Cobra is way out of reach. One called the Boss 500 or it was 500s are very nice. I saw one on auto trader that was affordable.

Agreed, but a used G8 GT is going to be way more $$$ than a used late model GTO. He said he was in the $20k price range, right? I don't even think you can get a 6 banger G8 for that price yet.

If you want a lotta bang for the buck, have you considered the 02/03 Cobras? They're good, reliable vehicles, fast, and nice. Not to mention they're a modder's dream.

Having a old used car and having to dump money into it all the time to keep it running is not something I enjoy. My 01 cougar, 98 Passport, All my RX-7's. What a waste of money. So far the only thing I bought for my Camry were tires and a battery. I bought the tires about 1 and a half ago. The battery I bought about 5 months ago. Never had to buy anything to keep it running. It's a work car though. I rarely take it out for anything else. I use it for work only. The only thing the Montego needs is a valve for the Break booster and the left caliper needs to be replaced. Which my warranty won't cover it. :/ Other then that it runs perfect. Breaks still work fine. They just make a squeaky noise when you press the breaks. Kinda like a rocking chair.
I put on average 8 miles a day on my Camry. Sometimes I go up to 12 or 16miles a day. That's rare though. I put on average between 2k to 2500miles a year on the Camry. I use it as a patrol car. That's why I want something newer. So I can have a nice car for myself and still have the Camry as my work car.
Edit: Wish I could find a cheap ass Crown vic Police car for work. That would be sweet.

The 3v mustangs are great DD cars. Comparatively headroom in the back seat of the Genesis coup is horrible. I had to literally put my head sideways while sitting in the back. My mustang isn't "roomy" but I can at least fit back there. Being that the 5.0 has been out for a while, I'm starting to see some modifications for the 3v's reducing in price. Most later models came with 3.31 gears (which mine had), makes for good mileage on the highway. And they only require 87 octane gas (not sure about the genesis)
