Those road ranger guys could probably take a staff cut in exchange for some more fdot too...the only thing they do is carry around 5 gallon cans of gas, tow straps, and car jacks >.>

eh, the road ranger people are actually a pretty good idea.
typically, thats all they do, but you gotta figure, a 20 something year old girl, by herself, gets a flat. She either has to wait for someone to come save the day. wait for AAA, or a road ranger guy shows up. the sooner the tire gets replaces, the sooner she is on the road and out of the way. just having a car parked on the side of the road effects traffic. rubber neckers cause all kinds of problems.

Suppose that's true enough. Hadn't really considered it that way as I usually call AAA since I cant even fathom getting to my spare lol (it's buried beneath a 5 gallon tank of methanol and a speaker box and amps). I did have to call the road rangers once in a company vehicle that I didn't know had a broken fuel gauge when I ran out of gas dead smack in the middle of I-75 down by bonita springs at like 2:30 in the morning. Super heavy fog + I-75 + E350 work van = bad scenario lol. Just seems to me like you never see those dudes doing much...and there's not a direct number for them that I'm aware of...I ended up calling 911 to get a cop out there to block the lane so I could walk to get gas and they sent a dude in a truck with free gas instead lol.

There's a number, I think it's *347 or something for the road rangers. On the parts of turnpike (dunno about I-75/I-95) that have alot of traffic, they do patrols. Had one pull over and make sure everything was alright once (I had already called AAA, was waiting for a tow) when he was on his way to help someone else that had got stuck.

Fucking FHP doesn't even pull over to make sure your okay if your stranded on the highway. Motherfuckers.

^LMAO apparently their credo is to drive and ignore instead of protect and serve. Thanks for the rangers number btw. In the case that I ever stop to help someone stranded and it's something the road rangers can take care of I will just give them a call...I tend to be more of a good samaratan than I should be...it'll probably end up being the death of me some day lol.

I'm not sure if that's the number, it just seems familiar (I've driven Ft. Lauderdale - Gainesville probably 60 times the last year) from all the road signs...

Street cops don't even stop to help. I was driving home an hour ago and my car overheats. I swerve two lanes and put my hazards on. The cop behind me just keeps going, doesn't even hesitate. "Protect and Serve" my ass.

No rear bumper = potential safety hazard in a crash.
Not only to you, but to whoever might be rear ending you.

I'm a little late to the party but yes the FDOT can pull you over and even issue you a speeding ticket.
