Default Engine Beautification

Anyone on here that would like the opportunity to make some extra bucks...or know someone who would...I need my engine wire brush polished...most of it wont be too bad considering it just got a brand spanking new magnus sheet metal intake and exhaust manifold which are already polished along with a polished aluminum radiator...just lookin to have the valve cover, block, and hose fittings spiffed up.

it doesnt have that high polished shine to it either though...silver powder coat just turns out sparkly grey...I dont mind the work in upkeep...I'll just pay some schmuck at a detailing shop to spit shine my engine once a week lol

most of the things you want polished are zinc coated steel, thus when you strip and "polish" them, it'll look nice for a week until it starts to rust.

How about some Chrome cleaner?

I use it on all kinds of bare metal surfaces on my bike. Puts a protective coating on it, like car wax. Keeps most surface rust away, if any does form it polishes it right out.

Thanks for the tip...I'll take a few parts off and strip em down and apply the polish to see what happens. John, any idea on how long it usually takes for rust, tarnish, or corrosion to start appearing on the pieces, and which pieces are the most problematic? I was thinking about stripping it down, polishing it up and then using some of this stuff to protect it from oxidization.

VHT-SP145 GLOSS CLEAR COAT High-Temperature Engine Enamel Gloss

Not too positive about how well that would hold up around areas like the exhaust manifold though.
