im doubting this to be true

Considering my car cost less then alot of the cars in the for sale section of this forum. I'm pretty sure I never thought that.

But with any car comes the basic maintance my Z3 requires.

Brakes, tires, filters, coolant system maintance, bushings, seals, and clutches.

And I can bet that most, if not all of those normal wear and tear parts for my Z3 arent that much more, if at all, more expensive then your normal toyota or honda.

But where you really see the price is when shops, mainly dealers, want to rape you on labor just cause its a BMW.

The radiator on my car was easier to change then on my last civic, yet a local shop wanted to charge me insane amounts for labor, their excuse?

Its a BMW

fuelie327, to you I might sound like a typical euro car asshole owner, or whatever you wanna call it, but to me, you sound like your typical asshole shop mechanic that wants to hustle everyone.

thats funny since the radiator for the z3 is over 300 for just the part and the Honda radiator is only 160, the labor is the same . How did it cost more on the honda? And as far as hustling people , I gaurantee you that doesnt happen. I charge as fair a price as possible and I charge a manufacture list.

Ive got the prices right here in front of me. Now , just because you went with a no name peice that might have been cheaper doesnt mean anything. Quality cost money , why would you put something that cheap in your BMW?

like any car, as long as you don't goto a dealership you won't get raped on repairs

I've found from personal experience that a 96 Accord is WAY more expensive to own and operate and get repaired than either the E36 or my current E46 3 series.
I go to the dealer and i don't get raped on repairs. Some of the repairs and parts are often cheaper too.

A quick search reveals a radiator for a Z3 is 100-120 from eBay or RockAuto... ^Another reason why working on your car is much cheaper than bringing it to a shop
