Default Chevy Volt

Anyone see the news that this thing is actually a hybrid and not a true electric car? Amazing they can get away with that and the govt will allow you 7,000$ rebate.
I guess i'm not amazed but what a bunch of horseshit. I guess go Leaf

Yeah. Old news. The MEDIA hid from the consumer that it was a hybrid. GM always said it was a hybrid. It's way overpriced, btw. The Leaf is gonna kick its ass. DC power and hydrolysis are where it's at.

So why do you say the leaf will kick its ass? I think the volt looks 100x better and It's not limited to 100 miles after the battery dies?

Neither is my Chevy S10 with V6, but that doesn't mean it's better for the environment.

I think the Volt is a true electric car with a small gas powered generator. A hybrid is a gas powered car with electric motors and batteries that help with gas mileage. So imo the Volt is better because it only uses the gas generator if the batteries run out of juice. But in the Leaf if you run out of juice you don't have anything to recharge the batteries. Don't take my word for it tho

That is what GM wanted you to believe. It was recently discovered it has axles connecting the gas motor to the drive wheels. Its basically a prius that took 7 years to develop.

GM’s engineers didn’t reveal until recently that the engine can power a secondary electric motor that turns the wheels.

The really sad thing is the rags that have tested it out are saying it gets pretty poor milage considering what it is. The numbers i've seen were 25-35 average. A civic would get about the same i'd assume?

They lied about it and now are trying to say why bs isn't really bs.

These are not the driods you're looking for.
