I passed a Mercedes Benz suv eastbound on I-4 leaving Tampa a few days ago and wondered if anyone knows what it is. It had very wide tires, appeared to have a body kit, and a full rollcage. It was painted a dull, flat orange with some graphics on the sides and rear, one thing looked kind of like a clock and there was a name, possibly "GLOBUS" (or maybe BRABUS?). It had pretty strong acceleration ability, but not up to the level of my sti. He passed me after I got on the Polk Parkway because I don't speed on that road, it is too heavily patrolled. Just curious, if anyone knows about this vehicle.

 

It probably said Brabus. What kind of SUV was it? A Gwagen? (Big boxy one) or the newer G class, or an R class... etc.

 

I know you said it was a Benzo, but this came to mind when you described the rest.

It was definitely a Benz. I'm not sure what model, it could have been a Gwagen that was lowered and with a body kit, or possibly a GLK. I was in the far right lane and he was in the far left lane when I looked over and saw it as I passed. It definitely had a rollcage, I could see the tubes through the front passenger window. After that, he was behind me until I got off I-4. The paint looked very faded, but I think it was painted that way with a lot of flat black in the orange to make it look like a very flat, dull orange. There was some other writing and/or symbols on the sides, but I didn't get a good look at them. At one point, he tried to catch up to me and was coming on pretty strong for an suv, but couldn't do it.

I saw an F430 on I4 this afternoon. Had some phaggot in a white kia up his ass the whole time with a cell phone camera pulled out.

 

Hard to say for sure with the limited view I had, but I think it was more likely a lowered Gwagen with a widebody kit. It did sit very low to the pavement and had very wide tires.
