how would i make out pretty good already? by wasting my time the night i got hit, my time dealing with the insurance company, my time going to get the damage appraised, the what would be leaving my car to get it put back to the way it was before i got hit.... with nothing but wasted time and all this frustration to show for it... ?
oh and btw, im not greedy and out to get rich, but ive been rear ended before(way worse) and i got screwed...

Seriously dude, listen to what everyone else is saying. Be glad they didn't scrap what in there eyes is a 15 year old commuter car and give you $1500. And be thankful that the guy who hit you actually HAD decent insurance and stuck around to exchange information. He could have been some illegal with no insurance, hit you and taken off. Accidents suck but people have dealt with much worse than you are.
