Default Hesitant when floored.

I'm posting this here because nobody in Mitsubishi tech has my car so it really doesn't matter.

No matter what gear I'm in, if I floor it, my car sputters and barely accelerates. However, I can ease on the gas and get a decent pull out of it. I daily this car so I really don't drive it floored anyways, but in the event that I sell it, it needs to be running perfectly.

Any ideas?

Have you filled up your tank at a cheapo place recently? I was having a similar problem, and it ended up being bad gas.

I'll check the distributer. My gas should be fine. I always go to RaceTrack, while it might not be the best, it's never caused this to happen before.

Odd suggestion, but try unplugging your battery for a minute or two. This will reset your ECU to the stock settings and get rid of any odd OBD codes that might have been thrown. Sounds like it's in safemode.

Also, remember to always keep up with basic maintenance. Spark plugs, wires, fluids, air filters, etc. All of this adds up!

Sounds like it could be the fuel pump or a clogged cat,?????? I'm guessing the cat.

Good suggestion, do this but of course check for codes first. Also before you go swapping parts, replace your fuel filter. It's an economical start.
