Peltier coolers, also known as thermoelectric coolers, are solid state heat pumps that, with the application of electrical current, transfer heat from one side of the device to the other. While the amount of heat reduction they can achieve varies with the quality of Peltier, a temperature differential between the two sides of 130°F (55°C) is not out of the question for a very high-end model. Less godlike models can produce about three quarters of that.
Thats the basics....do a search on Peltier cooling.
Neat stuff. Its always a good thing to toy with new ideas.

Hehe...If you could find a way to make them a little more efficient you might line an intercooler with them or an intake. I have a working model in my garage right now. Problem is they consume massive amounts of power and give off MASSIVE amounts of heat. And they dont stand up to alot of CFM. Right now I might be able to get a 3-4 degree drop in intake temps...not nearly enough to market...but then again...these kids today will buy anything.
just say it will give around 30 degree drop on SOME cars
some being an emphasis lol
