Why not do it right?

If you want cold intake temps... run a 25 shot of Nitrous... this is enough to keep the air intake temps a constant freezing temp, and not alot of Nitrous boost...

Its a good way to do it and is reliable, until the bottle is empty of course...

Its good to ponder up ideas, you don't think newton got his laws right the first time

I would like to see someone rig the AC clutch so it turns off the compressor when you push the gass pedal a certain amount maybe something that reads off the TPS. That way your air would still be cold but when you need the power it will accelerate and you will have the extra ponies. Most evaporator cores stay cold for a good minute or two after the compressor is off so your air would still be cold during this period of acceleration

I'm pretty sure that has already been done.

I am not suprised, there are so may other people out there that think the same, someone had to come up with it already

It may not be a new idea but thats not the point. Its probably a good project for those people who don't have OBD II or a newer car. I know my car doesn't do that (not that the AC system is charged right now anyways).

How about using Peltier plates in the intake tract to cool the charge a few degrees. Whats a Peltier plate?

Peltier coolers, also known as thermoelectric coolers, are solid state heat pumps that, with the application of electrical current, transfer heat from one side of the device to the other. While the amount of heat reduction they can achieve varies with the quality of Peltier, a temperature differential between the two sides of 130°F (55°C) is not out of the question for a very high-end model. Less godlike models can produce about three quarters of that.

Thats the basics....do a search on Peltier cooling.
Neat stuff. Its always a good thing to toy with new ideas.
