Autozone lets you borrow tools. You should see if they have one to borrow.. You must put down a small deposit so they know they will get their tool back. Well worth it. You get your money back in full when your done using it.

Edit:

1) Have you checked your dipstick to see if you might be a little low on oil ??
2) Does the light flicker when you make a left or right turn ??
3) Does it start to flicker when you press the brake ??
4) Does it start to flicker when you are at a complete stop ??

AZ doesnt loan an oil pressure gauge, i checked. so i bought one from harbor freight today. it flickers when idling. the oil was low the first time it came on and i was due for a change so i changed it. its full now and i still have the problem. the idle is a little low (500rpm), but i wouldnt think the oil light should come on at that speed. ill be checking the pressure in the morning. i hope its just the pressure switch.

^ if it flickers while at idle without moving vehicle it might be the sensor.. Hopefully it isn't anything serious.

Or clogged. he can pull his oil pan and check that out... but that also requires removing some of the exhaust components.

I'm not 100% familiar with the system, so I can't say if it would read high or low with a clogged pump.

does the engine knock? 500rshared_pm idle is pretty low, low idle speed = lower oil pressure as the oil pump turns slower also
