new clutch help

Default new clutch help

i have a new clutch in my car, what is the proper way to break it in. it slips a little bit sometims when i use too much throttle but i only beat on it a few times, like an idiot. it has about 200 miles on it, what should i do. should the slipping go away

You want to REALLY avoid slipping a clutch in the first ~500 miles. No clutch dumps, powershifting, or anything like that is common courtesy within 500 miles for a new clutch.

so its normal for it to slip,(if you act like a dumbass) but its bad for it...correct?

i usually go 1k miles on a new clutch. this is one of those things thats a pain in the ass and you don't want to have to change again.....even more if you bought an expensive clutch.

is this the first one you ever put in?

naa, i put an oem replacement in my honda, and my freinds too, then mine, just never broke in a stage 2

that's weird. when i got new clutch's i was only nice to them for about a day (i was a dumbass apparently) and they were always fine the next day or so when I beat the shit out of them like normal.

we're talking about semi stock b-series and stuff in my case so not a lot of power

well mine is a klze (200hp) with headers lightwieght fly wheel stage 2 clutch maybe 160-170 whp. not too much power idk, i screwed with it kinda early zso now im tryin to be gentle because i f*cked up. hopefully i didnt screw it up

ACT recommended a 500 mile break in for my HDSS. No slipping for more than 2 seconds I believe.
