I havent hydroplaned with or without a wing... and by HUGE, do you just mean ricer? Cause my type-r wing is pretty big... And wouldnt it help against hydroplaning* due to the added downforce on the rear wheels?

Not that I encourage people putting "giant asshole race car wings" as you put it onto their cars... most don't do the type of driving that needs it, whether FWD or RWD.

When it actually is warranted to have a big wing like that though, it has nothing to do with the drive wheels. Mainly because at the speed you have to go to make any significant downforce (80mph+) you aren't going to be spinning your tires and need more traction for acceleration. The wing is there to add lateral grip ie for cornering, duh. The natural shape of most cars creates downforce in the front and lift at the rear making the rear end get light and want to spin in high speed corners. If you do any driving on a high speed track, you can benefit from a rear wing regardless if you're FWD or RWD.

Almost got it all. Natural car design creates lift on the front and rear, that is why race cars back flip, not front flip, when they lose downforce.
