Does anyone know of a place that will actually rebuild a steering rack? SVTJesse tells me of some place in Tampa.. anyone have any experiance anywhere?

 

Next time i go near that place I will blow it up. Then kick the teeth out of all the dead bodies.

Haha yep. I think i went on my rant about them with you.. probably more than a few times.

 

The funny thing is we never had problems with them. Lori and I will go check on that rack for at the Junkyard Wednesday Ill keep ya posted on it.

 

Jeff do you still need the rack? I have 4 days off this weekend and can run by the junkyard if ya still want me too. I actually think it is a stripped down R/T (red). Any clues to positively id one? Looks like all the badging is gone. Of course the engine is gone. The car rear ended another car. front be all smashed

 

Yeah ill still take the rack as another care for when I actually do find someone to rebuild them. For R/T identification.. check the mouldings. Even if the door mouldings are gone the front and rear bumper covers should have a red stripe not chrome. If the rear spoiler is gone there should still be holes in the decklid. Vented rear discs. Snowflake wheels if there. Of course the ES R/T ground FX. The front buckets will be nice contoured ones made of many pieces not flat 2 dimensional looking ones.......
