after full braking ten times the Escalade needs 70,1 meters (76.66 Yards) to come to a full stop from a speed of 61 mph.

I can't find the damn video though in which you can see the rotors glowing brightly

Cadillac officialy sells the Escalade here in Germany, and nobody wants to drive it.....nice 0-60 time, yes, but everything else pretty much sucks.

Cars over here got to have reliable brakes, may it for the Autobahn or for the twisty and hilly countryside roads

about the qualitiy of german cars....well I never liked VW for the named reasons, the newer models have improved interieur quality though, sometimes the materials get better after the first facelift of a car.

Cant say anything about Porsche, the last time I sat in one was 2 years ago in a 996 GT3 VLN race car, so all it had was a rollcage and 2 seats.

I do compare, when I'm at Ramstein AB I sometimes go to the car dealers there with my host (someone has to sign me in) and check out the cars.

I sat in Mustangs, Chargers, SRT4s, Cobalts and so on.....and everytime I left there I was glad to sit in my BMW again, even though its a 10 years old car.

the plastic used in these cars is just awful.

the newer Vettes are quite nice though.

not trying to piss anybody off, just my 2 cents.

That is alot of wear on the braking system. When in the real world would the car actually need to accomplish this? That is outside the bound of everything but on a closed course track.

The brake system is not a bottle neck for highway driving.

i agree, it just seems like they put it through that test to try and get the brakes to fade so they could give it bad review and chalk it up to being "a shitty American suv."

Escalades dont roll carbon ceramics dude, any german car would do the same thing if it was put through that test.

they simulated a drive down a mountain pass....nothing you'd have to worry about in FL lol

what came first, the small brakes or the limited top speed 0f 105 mph? either they found out that the brakes are to small for the car and limited it, or they limited it at first and though "why spend money on big brakes?"

I look at cars differently, fist how fast can they go at top speed, second how fast can they come to a hold......thats the reason why I'd never drive an American SUV.

I'd be pissed if I'd have 405 bhp and would get passed my 75 hp Opel Corsas on the Autobahn.

99% of car buyers do not think that way. Therefore it would make sense to market to them.

If you don't like a car because 1 caught on fire, just stay in the house behind the computer.

if escalades brakes are catching on fire, so are suburbans, tahoes, hummers, silverados, etc etc etc etc.... That shit is what germans and brits love to jack off to because they hate american cars.

i would never even consider taking an escalade to a drag strip, let alone a race track. what the fuck?

I too am curious as to why we're using the terms "escalade" and 0 to 60" in the same sentence. Those cars were built for soccer moms, not race tracks.

Also, wouldn't you expect an SUV with >250 HP, a v8, and 24 seats to take a longer time to slow down? Granted that the braking system could be improved, I searched online and found no records of this (brakes catching fire, glowing) happening.
