most customized hondas I see around town pretty much considered rat rods by defenition

Please!!!! this is almost as gay as putting deep dish wheels and curtains on your car and calling it VIP. It is NO ways near VIP and the Hondas and other makes with the rusted out look etc etc are NOT Rat RODS.

1) to be a RAT ROD it must first be a HOT ROD!!! DUhhh

2) It must be a Hot rod made from junk parts and misc parts , not bought and built custom by throwing down a bunch of cash....(as stated previously)

Well the term originated from a vehicle that wasnt painted and finished back in the day.

All rods use parts from other cars, how else were they supposed to put a nailhead in a roadster? Rat rods dont have to be made from junk, and usually arent, thats just a trend like everything else.

Modern day rat rods are lame, especially on fwd imports

Since no one can be original they always steal another idea. Big surprise.
