More potential (IMO), better gas mileage, more torque at a lower rpm, etc.

Just a preference i guess. If I got a new Mustang i would definitely want the Eco Boost.

isnt the ecoboost a turbo 6? theres no way in hell id want that in my mustang. IMO a mustang ALWAYS needs an option for the v8. its just what made the car what it is. Of course times are changing so maybe throw in a hybrid v8 or something that will help it get really good mpg when needed (maybe a switch like a sport and cruise mode which will change the tune for better mpg)

The EcoBoost family of 4-cylinder and 6-cylinder engines features turbocharging and direct injection technology.
Pulled from this article : FORD TO EQUIP HALF A MILLION VEHICLES WITH ECOBOOST ENGINE TECHNOLOGY FOR UP TO 20% BETTER FUEL ECONOMY | Ford Motor Company Newsroom

If they were optioning away from a turbo v8 then id say there nuts but i think the v8 is half of the heritage and honestly half the reason most people buy that car

Tim, the Coyote V8 will be in the Mustang for a while, they're just adding the Ecoboost V6TT as an option as well.

honestly id consider a tt v6 as well, I just think the v8 needs to always be an option, it would turn quite a few of the old dudes in there mid life crises away. They dont care about twin turbos they just want the v8 mustang that they always saw on the road

edit : I have to add, id consider buying the tt v6 if they change the body styling a bit
