Default Seats - Hog rings and pliers

I couldnt find any specific place to post about upholstery stuff so i'm posting it here looking for help. I dont have hog rings or hog ring pliers. I dont think the hardware store sells either of those. I want to remove the flaps under my seat so the pan is more exposed to clean it up, it has light surface rust like most seats and the flaps are held snug by hog rings. Is there someway I can do this saving the ones I remove maybe by flattening them out after bending them with regular pliers but hen putting them back is the problem. Hate to spend money on something I will probally use once by ordering the rings and pliers online.

I've changed pans on a few s2k seats to fit eg's .. use a pair of pliers and they come in and out easily. they are quite pliable. after doing about 6 of the rings you will get a good idea of how to do it nicely.

i liked using my linemans. they are easier to handle than needle nose. you will find them in the electrical department.

Call up 813-380-7357 They can either sell you some new hog rings or do the seat for you

have plenty of those in the garage, no idea why I didnt think of that. I'm going to have to swap seat pans I put S2K seats in my EK and didnt swap rails or pans but i'm 6'3" and I call it sitting low, sitting up all I can see on my hood is my sprayers. I wanted to sit lower than were I was at but right now if I have any passengers probally 5'10" or under they are only going to see my dashboard when they look out. I'm thinking the pan swap will have them bolt up perfect and sit higher but still lower than the stock seat height.

I open one side of the hog rings into a bigger "C", then close them
when needed, with ordinary pliers on the ends of the rings.

Hog rings can sometimes be made from coathangers if the wire is
thick enough.-Bob
