I definately watch NASCAR over boats or airplanes. Though NASCAR
is only exciting when it get down near the end when everyone
starts moving. What I got pissed at was they took away my
favorite show the past weeks: American Muscle Car Thursday
Nights 8:00pm.

I love it when NASCAR guys say it takes a real racer to control a loose car at high speeds . I tell them to try the ultimate loose car...... a rally car

To each his own.

I like how NASCAR allows Ford to cut the rear wing to get more speed instead of forcing them to develop more speed. The whole reason for racing is for the evolution of the car not a handicap to keep it close. Do you think the BMW/Williams F1 team would be where they are currently if Bernie granted them more tire 2 years ago!!!!
Damn we are talking about multi million dollar factory NASCAR teams.....not shoe string budget teams

I hope Speed Channel remembers what made Speed Vision so popular.

instead of sitting here bitching about it follow the link and tell them directly I know the petition wasnt all that helpful but maby if we all express are grand dislike for the nascar coverage then they may tone it down some or just eliminate it from here and leave it on one of the other fox channels.

Hmmmmmm . . . lets see . . . what racing series are actually running now? F1? not yet. ALMS? not yet. Touring car? no not yet. CART? not yet. IRL? nope. Grand-Am? yes the 24hrs. Did speedvision cover it? Check. Oh NASCAR season is starting with the biggest event of the year. Should Speedvision/Speed channel cover it? Of course they should. Or would you rather watch 6 month old re-runs of guys named Luigi and Mario go off-roading?

Speed channnel is not a charity. They go where the ratings are. Current and timely coverage brings viewers. If you want to complain about something complain about how open wheel racing split into IRL/CART and lessened the appeal. Or complain about road racing being split between ALMS and Grand-AM. NASCAR has done everything right to market their product to the majority non-gearhead audience. The other major sanctioning organizations FIA included have only been successfull at driving away the casual viewer. And that my friends is where the money is.

That said some of you fancy yourselves roadracers and have auto-Xed or done track days. Has anybody that posts here ever run ovals? I doubt it or there would be more appreciation for the art. That is what it is. Ive done both and know from my own experiences that I learned way more about chassis setup on ovals than RRing. And what I learned from running ovals translated better to road course setup than vice-versa.

A lot of you have preconceived notions that domestic cars or oval racing is some redneck embarrassment. Open your minds You might just learn something.

BTW How can anyone call 43 cars running in Dale Mabry style traffic at 190mph boring? And at the same time love the excitement of watching an F1 race where passes are a rare thing the seperation between cars is longer than the lap time at most NASCAR tracks and realisticly only 6 cars max have a shot at winning.

Watching a Dale Earnhardt of Jeff Gordon see the draft and work their car brings me just as much joy as watching Michael Schumacher carve a wet track.

Peace

Uncle Ben

Bleh friggin lawnmower racing takes some skill Im sure but Im not going to sit there and watch that either. NASCAR has is only entertains me when they do tech specials and get into the mechanical details or the cars actually get off of the oval track and run a road course (think it only happens twice per season).

Oh and if anyone actually has Speed Vision/Channel youll notice that it isnt as bad as everyone claims. Yes Ive seen a good deal of NASCAR but there has also been a significant reductions in bullshit infomercials boat racing tractor pulls and other HORRIBLE bullshit. Supposedly Speed Channel will now focus more on NASCAR F1 CART WRC etc. Speed Cbannel is rockin the damn house so everyone stop your friggin whinining and get a clue.
