yeah, that is steep for 1 brake line and labor...I never trust a shop that advertises that they will match the best price because all that really means is they know they charge a lot and aren't afraid to cut into their profit margin just to get the business.

Almost all good shops will work with you if they can in regards to price matching etc, but the good ones don't advertise it.

for reference, I got the parts for stainless steal lines on all four brakes for less than that...

You can check on hose/parts prices by calling the A-Parts store yourself.
A quart of fluid is close to $8. It will take at least that amount to get the crud out of the lines and out of the master cylinder.

I would have preferred to replace both hoses, so that as they deteriorate, they do it at about the same rate. It doesn't take that much longer to
replace both hoses and you had the old fluid bled out of the lines as part of a single hose replacement anyway.

You might look at the other hose.....maybe they chewed on it because a small crack was seeping fluid.....and it tasted good.... -Bob
