In all seriousness, it doesn't fucking matter. The most power will be seen with no filter, but that's not ideal for daily driving. A filter is a filter is a filter... Seriously, get a K&N drop in in your stock airbox, all you need.

I wasnt thinking power wise, more like filtration quality, life span, etc. As far as using a drop in I know it wouldnt make any more power, the air box design and filter size would likely be more of a restriction than the filter media itself. Flow rates between the medias would be interesting to see though, just from a geek standpoint.

Whole question came about from cruising ebay out of boredom and seeing so many different kinds. Had nothing to do with modding my car.

Sad part is the pantyhose isnt just a joke, Ive seen it done. Better yet Ive seen it sprayed with K&N oil. The shit some people do to cars is just scary sometimes.

i liked the HKS mesh filter. i had one on my supra and i had no issues. i also used Apexi's dual funnel one and it was fairly good also,it did however collect more dirt and debris compared to the HKS

i use the k&n drop in even though i should be using a dry filter because the oil fucks up my MAF readings so i have to take that out and clean it about once a month because it makes my car throw codes.

Seriously? I literally gave mine off my Supra away and never asked for it back. Biggest piece of crap ever.

J-Dizzle - you want it to collect more dirt and such to keep it from the motor

I rock my K&N's. Gauze filters flow pretty good. Really most automotive air filters dont see much debris unless your offroading. If you do offroad you just put an outerwear on it. I use K&N and the outerwear setup for offroad applications too and that see's huge amounts of dirt, dust, and sand and my intake is always clean. IMO stay away from foam whatever you do. It falls apart and is messy. K&N is nice because of the customization and huge selection of air filters to get. If you cant find it they will custom make it.
