Well in equally matched cars +/-50rwhp the "driver mod" makes a difference from a dig. From a roll not as much...

The driver mod usally has more to do with the other guy not being able to drive well. The difference between a good driver and a great driver is very little. When it's a race won by inches then it's important but most street races aren't nearly that close.

^true, but road racing takes far greater skill anyway. In a drag race the difference isn't as large.

Just need practice and learn your cars optimal shift points, not just redline..

Driver mod is crucial to cutting good times on the 1/4 or 1/8th! In both of those your times are pretty much dictated by how well you launch.

Every 0.1s you reduce your 60' time, is 0.2s ET on the big end. That means if you typically cut a 2.2 60' and turn in a 13.5 ET, that if you get your 60' down to 1.7, you should run a 12.5 ET. 1 second in a drag race is huge. Hell 0.5s behind someone is huge when you are both doing 100+ mph...

Show me where I said it was easy??? I made a relative statement.

In relation to one another road racing takes much more skill than drag racing, but I never said drag racing was easy...but thats not the point of this thread.

Dragracers are always sensitive about the difficulty of their sport. That's because they know the reality is all it takes is a bigger wallet to knock off another tenth.

FWIW, one time at BMP i tried to make a pass not powershifting then made the next pass powershifting. End result I went .47 faster on the 2nd run.

Driver mod = not giving a shit about breaking anything.
