chrysler has been utter shit for almost 30 years. I run a car lot, I have more issues with dodge/chrysler and toyota than anything else. its rather irritating.

thats the problem. They haven't consistently built remarkable, innovative, well built, segment leading cars since those cars were new. Its not like this company hasn't been pulled off the scrap heap before. Even with their poor structure, they got fat living on truck and suv sales, and were completely unprepared when the market shifted to smaller, more economical vehicles. They wrote their own eulogy.
That being said, this is a serious blow to our economy and will cost more jobs most assuredly. We will be continuing to foot the bill for this and perhaps GM's failure for DECADES. More of your tax dollars going to corporate america and not to the things that DO matter to us, like better highways. So anyone rooting for the failure of a huge cog in our economy, is simply rooting against their own best interests. Hence why Carbon21 is Stevie Wonder in a fun house in this argument.

Hybrids are one of the biggest losers in terms of making money for a car dealer. Money hungry is another story. If you count the fact that we keep requiring more and more from car companies while they get the screws put to them by the union it makes the price to high. Does that make them greedy I dunno.
What do you think they make as a profit average on cars compared to say honda?
