Anyways, blue book in excellent condition is about 2075 bucks.

You're going to spend a lot of money having that fixed properly. The entire section of the car's body has to be ordered and the old section cut out. Then the new section welded in and smoothed out and repainted. How much do you think that would cost?

I recommend just hackjobbing it however you can find. Fuck, rivet in some peices of fiberglass and smooth the edges with bondo or something, who cares? You should consider what makes economic sense with the car. I mean you could go the route of welding in new material, but like I said...a pro is needed or its going to look like shit anyways and cost more money...and a pro is going to be VERY EXPENSIVE as they have to do what I described above.
actually your estimate of the worth of the car is about what i was thinking (more around 2500 cause its power everything, sunroof and ac ) I was quoted about 6 months ago fixing that with welded metal with a full paint job $1700 by a reputable shop. So i was thinking a lot lower for only the welding part no finishing work. I can take care of that ....

1700 is an excellent deal if they're doing it properly, considering that means welding in two new quarter panels. Welding in a patch of sheet metal just won't come out all that well - I suppose if you used bondo to build up the contours it might...If you can do the finishing work yourself and are decent with bondo, you might be able to convince someone to hammer a peice of steel into shape and weld it in.

that's kinda what i was leading to ... hell if I had a welder I would do it my self (im that kind of person ) I been working on car for too long to let anybody touch it. I just don't have the time or money to teach myself how to weld right now....

plus I don't have $1700 right now ...

Welds promote rust........

If you are not going the show car route, You can cut out/off some quarter panels from the boneyard for maybe 50 each. .......cut them carefully
out to the nearest body crease......drill them for pop rivets...primer
'em then hang 'em,............ paint 'em to match the car.....it will look a little like a body kit or fiberglass flares were riveted on.

I can show you where the cuts would be made if you bring it over.

your cheapest, easiest route if you love this model car, would be to buy one without cancer and transfer all the stuff thats good out of your car. You got to keep in perspective, you're not dealing with a collectors car here.

^ Your correct about the collectors edition. My problem is that I specifically like this year and trim edition (EX power everything, AC that blows cold, sunroof, No airbags, and tan and black interior) So finding a direct replacement with all the same features would be difficult. (at least more difficult that just fixing the rust holes ) which is why I would like to keep the car ...

To senor Honda
I just transfered jobs so funds are a little low right now, as soon as they get better I will hit you up and see what we can work out. Unfortunately between work and the wife and kids, I don't get much time to go to meets anymore ...
