New 100:1 compression ratio engine
New 100:1 compression ratio engine
I was doing some more research today and came across the "Scuderi air hybrid engine" that has capabilities to reach 100:1 compression ratio! It also fires after top dead center.
article: Scuderi air hybrid engine
It's supposedly 70% cleaner and capable to produce huge amounts of power. They are talking about powering a bus with a 2.0 four cyl lol
Also, it turns out you can convert any engine into an air hybrid engine.. read this
Article: How to convert your engine to air hybrid
Anyone heard of this? I about fell over when I seen it could do 100:1 compression ratio, and then it fires after TDC wow man... I can't wait! They say it will be easy to retool to produce, because it uses basically the same parts we use today.
The coolest part about this engine is you can tap the air compressor tank to fill tires, run tools, etc. How cool is that!
How much power can we create with 100:1 compression ratio? Is this going to yield like 10,000+ hp?

do you actually read the ish you post....The video itself says that it fires AFTER TDC.....

wow man your right, thanks for catching that! reppd i need an editor lol
what exactly is the bennefit of firing after tdc

If it fired before TDC it would most likely bend the shit out of the rods, and more than likely not run. In a normal combustion engine when the fuel ignites in the cylinder before the piston reaches TDC it is called pre-ignition, or detonation.

I was just talking to a friend about this engine. He says we could retrofit heads on a V-8 to do the same thing. Anyone up for the challenge? This thing running at 100:1 compression is like 1500 psi in the cyl, plus you have less stroke to get power output... You could have weed wacker sized engines driving a van down the road lol or create thousands of HP with a common sized modern engine (wont happen, they'll give us the weed wackers) The heart of this new engine is that it has a supercharging affect within itself. A naturally forced induction motor! This is really something.
