Schuberth's are $$$$$$$$. I think an F1 spec RF1.7 is something like $8-9k USD. If you want one you have to get it custom made I believe. The main issue is are they snell approved (could be a reason why you cant find them states side)?

I think Bell may also make helmets for F1/open wheel/open cockpit cars.

rumor has it he was doing 160 when he was struck with an effective force of 1600lbs.... absolutely scary. Felippe was very much a "brazilian" driver, he has talent, personality, a great attitude and he loves his fans...it would be a shame to lose him from a sport that is already on shaky ground...

I wear the Bell T6 right now, it has some aero stuff to keep it down at high speeds that has made things much more comfortable, it's also a really large helmet so it gives me a better sense of security, of course who knows if it's really any safer; I like it but of course things like this always make you think about your safety gear and whether you've got the safest stuff available.

Just saw in the latest F1 news on SPEED's website, Massa is out of the coma now and talking. They expect him to make a full recovery, but they still don't know the condition of the eye and what his vision is going to end up like.

About the race, I'm still kinda surprised Brawn is struggling so much after being so dominant early on, but it's nice to see that Mark Webber and Red Bull are still doing so well. And nice to see McLaren and Ferrari competitive again, especially good for Hamilton since he hadn't won a race since last season. It really seemed to me like the KERS cars had an advantage on this track with so many slower corners to accelerate out of.

I have a feeling Red Bull is going to take the season, Braun probably just doesn't have the R&D depth to keep pace with the big boys, they had the whole summer and last season to prepare for this one but things get a lot harder now.

Its to early for me to say who will take the championships. Bolth teams red bull and Braun are untested in a championship fight. Also Button and Vettel are untested as well. It will be intersting to watch if their are any cracks under the presser.

Felipe is out of the comma and alert. He has also confirmed that he does have vision in his left eye at this time... He may make a full recovery, but it is still to early to tell as his condition could still get worse....He may leave the Hospital as soon as next week
