Yeah... those stands are pretty extended for lots of heavy working on the truck. Lemme tell you my dads 74 Dodge 3/4 ton truck tipped off of some jackstands one day while we were under it. It tipped my direction of couse.. but I was about 6 from getting a rotor thru my hip when it slammed the ground. 6 may seem like a lot but i was sliding across the driveway as fast as i could as it was falling towards me (not straight down) so it was damn close!! I was shaking for a few min after that...
I would have shit on myself if that happened to me. :eek

so what do you like more having to change the rear axle every 10-15 years or changing a cv axle every year? Im down to 15 minutes for an axle so once every 1.5 years isnt bad. How heavy is that rear axle?

Leave it to somebody to compare this to a friggin honda...Robster..he had to change the axle because he jumped his truck like 11 feet in the damn air..it bent it...but was still driveable..he changed it to regain his alignment. You dont just friggin replace the things otherwise..just keep fluid in them clean The trucks that have CV front axles..they have to be replaced quite often in abusive conditions..you CANNOT beat a solid axle for durability...unless you get a damn humvee. FYI..that is the front axle..not the rear hoss.
