OK so the explaination...My original axle is the one in the background in the first picture...The one with rusty ass rotors is the one I got from the boneyard. First thing I did was pull the inspection cover on the new axle...The gears look like they have never been turned as did the locker. Getting the old axle down was a bitch and getting the new one up was even more of a bitch. I swapped the rotors out (obviously) with my good ones. I rebuilt the hubs added manual locking hubs to relpace the full time locked did the front brakes while I was at it and then fixed the vacuum leak that was not allowing my 4wd to work (4wd is vacuum operated...see the cylinoid on the axle)

Yeah... those stands are pretty extended for lots of heavy working on the truck. Lemme tell you my dads 74 Dodge 3/4 ton truck tipped off of some jackstands one day while we were under it. It tipped my direction of couse.. but I was about 6 from getting a rotor thru my hip when it slammed the ground. 6 may seem like a lot but i was sliding across the driveway as fast as i could as it was falling towards me (not straight down) so it was damn close!! I was shaking for a few min after that...
