Wait a minute...

You mean a 1500 pound, 60 HP, 1.5 liter car can get 50+ miles a gallon, who would have guessed.

On a side note, my first car was a CRX HF I got for free in 1995. It was great putting 3 dollars of gas in it every two or three weeks.

All that money your saving in gas is great to help pay those hospital bills when you get into a wreck.

theres actually something to be said about that. I owned a 90 HF. The front disks were too small, and the rear drums inadequate, and with no sway bar, the car pitched and rolled under emergency maneuvers. Mine nearly killed me twice, and I didnt give it a third chance.

It did, however, get 45mpg with 160k on the clock, with me driving it balls to the wall from every stop light. The trick to getting anywhere efficiently was to put a brick on the gas pedal and never lift except to brake. It had an archaic version of cruise control to 90mph +/-; by not being able to overcome aerodynamic drag - in 3rd gear! (shifting to 4th would actually cause the car to slow down - 5th? Who needs that?)

Remember going down US19 in that thing trying to top it out? 4th and 5th gear only changed the pitch of the motor. For some reason, I really miss my 88 HF, it was a beastie for what it was.

you can take a si or dx gas tank and bolt it up there and get even more miles out of one fill up.
