stealing and thieves?
ok...well here in NY we all go to B20Vtec[dot]com and recently ive been making plans to move to Florida. still deciding the actual city but in between lakeland, orlando, and tampa. well here on the forum im usually on the stealing and thieves in northeast are soo bad that we even have a subforum for stolen threads where you can post if you've seen something suspicious, or had your ride taken, etc.
im wondering how bad is the stealing in Fl? do i still need to strip down my car of its ecu, flip the killswitches, remove my steering wheel, and still need to wake up every couple hours of the night to check my car? or can i be at a bit of peace of mind down in florida?

yeah it all depends on where you live..... just get a house and put the car in the garage problem solved.
YES Honda theft is bad here too, especially in Orlando. YES you should always take every precaution possible. Why not use every method of protection if it is available? Garage FTW

Jesus man, you have more loyalty to your honda that probably the CEO of the entire company does.

dude thats how it is bro. i had a boy who worked at pep boys. he was opening that morning and he parked out front. all he did was flip his kills and take his wheel with him. in the 15 min it took him to open up, disarm alarm, and walk back to the front, his shit was gone. here in ny/nj any small slip up and your ride is gone. we joke about it saying that soon only thieves will own hondas

Tampa is annually in the top 10 of cities for stolen cars, and Hondas are really easy to steal. I read a sob story on here seems like DAILY about yet another 92-00 Civic/Integra getting stolen. well the good news is that sooner or later, you realize its not worth it to own a honda anymore and move on to a real car. I should know, because I used to be the biggest honda defender in the world, and since moving on to many other different types of cars, I see how futile it is to own a modded honda. As if the high possibility of theft wouldn't deter you, the lack of traction from FWD, the lack of torque, the lack of distinction, and finally the stigma of owning a modded honda these days should be enough I would think.
