Clean off as much as you can and check it again in a few weeks. The cross-flow 2.0L engines leak oil sometimes around the valve cover. You would definitely smell burning oil in that case but it would have to be a major leak to make its way all the way to the oil pan in that amount. Plus its also on the plastic shield next to the tranny case. It might just be an oil pan gasket leak but it wouldnt splatter oil everywhere like that.

The PCV valve leaks sometimes too but it normally just leaks back into the intake tube and leaves a oil spot on the air filter.

Deal! The catch is that we would have to have possession of your car for 3 years or 50k miles. All pimping rights of the Jetta would be turned over to me. Actually I almost do 50k miles a year so I would have to change it to 3 years or 150k miles.

Personally I think that the oil looks NORMA:. Im thinking that the PIC 4 Looks like a little oil behind the CV axle. I would have someone check out both though.
