The literal meaning of DSM did end in 95 but everyone refers to the DSM as being a 1st gen, 2nd gen, and the Evo (also a VR4 but those are pretty rare). If honduh boy wants to get technical about meanings then you cant classify any Integra or Inegra engine because it's an Acura and not a honduh.

I've had a lot of Mitsu's and a couple of honduh's. The only thing I like about honda is the cheapness of modifying and the large aftermarket support. I prefer the looks of the 2gb talon to any Honda and I love the 4g63t engine.

The main reason I hate honda is because of the owners. The majority are dumbass ricers that try to race anyone and anything around. There are a lot that aren't like that, but you just rarely see them.

AWD Turbo > fwd n/a

Oh and to the guy that compared the 1st gen non turbo motor to his honda, you are an idiot.

I have worked on both. Honda's are much easier to work on, they have a very basic, simple design. mitsu's are much harder to work on, mainly because there is not much room to work. a 2 year old can change a timing belt on a honda, try it on a DSM. this is a good thing for the Honda but I like the challenge of working on my car. Once you complete an easy puzzle you want to try your hand at a much harder puzzle.

They are very finicky like rotaries.Rotaries run best rich not stoich.Dsm's are very picky on timing and boost leaks and knock.Doing a timing belt on a 4g63 is harder than a d/b series honda all day.Add to the fact that on stock power levels the manual trannies are known to break on dsm's due to torque(which honda's dont have).A good running 1g will shock ALOT of Honda's with more hp due to a dsm's better powerband.I'm in that situation now where a friends LHT built Integra Gsr with 280 dynoed whp is running as slow as my Auto 1g fwd with basic bolt on no tuning. He calls BS on my times but i have my slips and plenty of witnesses. Some people are haters i'm a realist and respect all cars if done right.

lol... it takes a 25 minutes to change the battery on my 97 cutlass, does that mean it takes more mechanical ability to work on it? no. it just takes more patience.
i have worked on vws, hondas, nissans, fords, mazdas, gms and mitsus and the only difference is the amount of time and patience needed to get the job done.

edit: well and the 7000 different "special tools" that it takes to actually work on a vw.
