I believe it is a Isuzu motor. Isuzu had a few small trucks and a few cars with this motor or something very similar. Maybe a Isuzu Impulse motor ? GM and Isuzu had a affiliation many years ago.

maybe MR2...i know the 80s chevy Novas had MR-2 engines everything identical aside from the valve cover although those mr-2s were supercharged and 1.6 i believe so you can basically disregard me in general although i did see a nova where the guy swapped in an S/C mr2 engine it kicked ass looked like your average mid to late 80s nova sported 13.6 second timeslips.

Its an Isuzu motor. My mom had a 85 Spectrum non-turbo which had a 1.6L Isuzu motor. I learned to drive in it.

Actually we still have it but its been rusting away in our yard for close to 10 years. Timing belt took out several of the valves.

yes.. GM owns isuzu so they swap out all the time. The Geo Storm was actually a renamed isuzu impulse.. Handling by Lotus... oooohhh
