Modding the 4g63t to do 11's is way less expensive than any honda. That was his point.

Keep the car stock, and running well. thats the main priority. minor exterior blemishes will fade away while your driving, and you wont even think about it. just drive the car, buy other things, or save the money.

I've seen a few k20 hatches run mid 10's with just bolt ons and a healthy shot of nitrous.
It doesn't take an "insane amount of work",it just takes someone who knows what they're doing.
As is with every platform.
