viper acr does the 'ring in 7:22, win.
I agree it's a factory competition car, but the personal attacks aren't needed.

It's made to do one thing well - and that's to carve up a racetrack. Nice personal attack.

I'd be surprised if it stays around much longer, or if Panoz had any interest in it for that matter. Dodge has/had a very unique opportunity to go all out to help Team Primetime with factory backing of their Viper competition coupe in America Le Mans GT2 racing this season and they've wanted nothing to do with that, I mean not even drivetrain parts or other common things that a self-funded team could really benefit from. Chevy had no problem sponsoring the GT1 Vettes even though the whole class is made up of two Vette's on the same team and one Aston Martin; obviously kind of stupid to have a class made up of three cars but that's the point, they are sponsoring two Vette's in a class that gains them nothing while Dodge could be sponsoring Primetime in a class with a huge number of other makes and models including Ferrari, Porsche, Ford, BMW, Panoz, etc. where some competitive finishes could be helpful.
Getting back to Panoz, the Esperante GTLM has been doing pretty well in ALMS this season, so picking up the Viper would not really get them anything, they already have a very strong platform.

At my age I really don't give a shit if the girls are looking at me or not. I'm just gonna buy what I want anyway.
PS love the irony of your login.

Dodge made it's point on the track at the end of the 90s and in 2000. Their decision to build the Comp Coupe instead of continuing throwing money at that class was a good one IMO. The reason GM is the only player in that class today is because it just isn't cost feasible. GT2 is where it's at now.
How well do you know Primetime? Just askin'.
