Zakspeed is a racing team, located not far away from the ring.

Everytime I was at the Nordschleife, there also was one of those Zakspeed Vipers.

These guys are on that track almost every day, they could do a run on it with their eyes closed.

Let's sit one of them in the GT-R or the ZR1 and compare again.......awesome time none the less!
exactly!

I'd rock any of those top 5 cars.

those different times mean realy nothing to me....I was driving several laps on the Nordschleife, and its about the driver and the weather condition how fast you can go.....not only the car (I'm not claiming I'm good at racing the schleife, but I know what kind of torture it is to your body and your car)

The Eifel (the area where the Nürburgring is to find) has very unstable weather conditions, it can start to rain out of the middle of nowhere within a few seconds.

If I had to choose between the Top 5 Cars, I would take the Pagani.....but looking at the price would make me jump to the GT-R......especialy because that car isn't such a problem to buy here in Germany than that Viper.

Not sure what you mean by "what was done" but save for the race seat and harness the Viper was bone stock right down to the Michelins. The hardcore package is a weight reduction option from Dodge. All the adjustments were made to stock items - stock shocks and stock wing.

I dont care what they call their "hardcore package". The fact is its the same steps you do to turn a street car into a track car. It's also running R spec tires. It's ok though, Dodge having pulled this off is going to make for some more entertaining runs which Im all for. They wont hold that record for long though.

He started out kind of rough and then settled into a rhythm in the last third. Looks like he missed a shift at the 5:37 mark. Car sounded rough too, like it was missing, hard to tell on vids like this though.

The Vet vid a while back looked a lot smoother. But then, any granny can drive a vet.

I don't know what point you're trying to make. Dodge is selling to anybody with the scratch a bone stock Viper capable of running 7:22 without any mods.

Dunno if the Vett or Nissan are built with that kind of equipment or not. If they are great.
