ATTN: Joe Dono AKA SCP_Celica SCAMMER
Glad to hear the good news JAP Works.

lets let as many people as we can know about this BBQ, it doesn't matter if they are tuners, or if they are members of TR, as long as they can recognize a good cause when they see one.

I did leave your house out of it. Did I post a picture of your house let alone even take one? I was getting my parking tag for school and drove down the road to see if Joe's car was there.
If you want me to bring your house into it, just let me know. Me and a friend were originally going to try and screw with Joe at your house until you said not to.

Hey everyone, updates are as follows:
All paperwork has been filed with courthouse.
Registered letters of "Notice of Intent to File a Lien" have been mailed to Joe, his Mother Lisa, and the Credit Union.
Lawyer has been contacted
Where we are at right now is that our Lien will take 60 days to go through, at that time we will be able to petition the Credit Union for them to write-off the car as a total loss and sign the title to us, OR, pay the total amount owed PLUS 60 days of storage at $30 a day. That will be the almost $16,000 PLUS $1,800 storage. The storage fee will continue to accrue until a check or title is received.
So long story short, we will probably end up with the car. I doubt the credit union is going to cut a check for $18K+ for a car that they have financed for less than that.
As far as the BBQ, I'm going to start getting that organized over the next couple of days.
I need to know where you guys would prefer it. We can do it at Don Garlit's Museum here in Marion County OR we can do it down in/near Tampa. I would expect a better turn-out in Tampa but I am not aware of where these kinds of events are usually held down there and as such would need help securing a location.

Checking in from Allfordmustangs.com (and from East Tennessee
) for an update....That's great news for you guys. Glad to see the ball rolling. I hope you guys can keep your financial head above water until this plays out. It sounds like the fine folks here on TR forum is going to back you up 100% and that is great. Good luck with the BBQ.
Another Corvette Off Topic member here. I hope this guy gets what's coming to him after all this.
Please remember to leave the rest of his family out of this. It is possible that he has scammed them to some extent as well. Driving by his house is not a good idea. I'm sure he's already made their lives miserable up to now.
It is possible to have a heart attack, and be up walking around a couple of days later. They vary in intensity.
An idea was brought forward about approaching the credit union and asking them to forgive the loan as a taxable write off for advertising if the car is auctioned for charity. This would be a win/win situation for all involved, especially Joes mother who would have the bulk of the burden.
People have suggested sending repeated text messages to Joes phone. It's obvious that he can't pay his bills now in an honest fashion, so why make the phone company another victim.
Let's let the legal system work itself out in this regard. I doubt very much that he will be able to scam anyone after the amount of publicity that his actions have brought.
I hope other scammers take a lesson from this, and try honesty for a change.
Just my .02 cents.
John
