Default Reinstating 55mph?

Pretty good write up. For those of you who weren't around for the national 55mph limit prepare to slit your wrists if our elected lawyers, um...I mean politicians, bring this back.

Reinstating "55," Are They Crazy?!

The original 55mph was creat during the energy crisis and since gas is gettin close to 4$ a gallon its safe to say we are reaching that point again. Its also a lot safer and it has become normal to drive 80 on the interstate and it will just be an inconvience for a while till ya get used to it again.

You cant get used to driving 55 on the interstate.... People drive 80-85 or more now because they cant drive 70.

huh?
a mile per hour is exactly that, a mile per hour. at 55mph, you travel 55 miles in an hour.
if your going 80mph, in an hour you would be 25 minutes ahead of a person going 55, after 2 hours you would be 50 minutes, after 3 you would be 75.
when i was a kid, it would take us about 14 hours to get to Macon, GA going 55mph. a few years ago, i made the trip to Boone, NC in 12 going 80mph.
